You're Comfort On My Mind

Tuesday, 21st April
Went Bowling with Lenny, Jeaneline, and Shirley, except Jeaneline decided not to play. I can't even remember who won the second game, but I know Lenny won the first and was getting near-strikes on every bowl. I've tried spinning the ball before and it just hasn't worked.

After bowling we went to Rouse Hill for a feed. Obligatory purchase of the KFC BBQ Bacon Roller was at hand.

Wednesday, 22nd April
Went Bowling again, this time with Lenny (again) and Tim. Lenny owning again. He started work after we finished our games and gave us free food. Best things in life are free. In this case, they were chips. With tomato sauce.

Friday, 24th April
Went for my green P's. Because I'm so late and lazy, I received the warning/renewal letter (since it was gonna expire on the 23rd May) so I decided to book it and go for it. I've heard people recounting how easy it was, and after doing it.. I don't think so. Either that, or nerves just got the best of me. To start it off, I got the FIRST freakin' PRACTICE QUESTION wrong. I was thinking.. shit, this is going to be an indication of how I'm going to go.

The test commenced and I was heavily relying on the "second-chance" confirmation question asking if I had touched the screen or not, because most of the time I had pressed it, only to realise a speeding car was approaching, or that I had second thoughts. Anyway, I got my green P's in the end, and my brother (who also was taking a test for his FULL licence) got his. So congrats to us both!

Later, went to Sevo to get picked up by Tim to go to Maria's 19th. This would be Tim+Adrian Driving/Navigation combo #3. Numbering these had a reason, because each time, there has been some sort of failure. Going to Ivan's house in Penrith.. and going to (or was it from?) Soundwave. Anyway, we were going good for the first 10-15 minutes. Until we found ourselves still on Cumberland Hwy. On the directions I had printed out, we were only supposed to be on it for 18 seconds. We were on it for about 15 minutes. Gave Thien a call and GOOD THING he was soo close by. So we met up with him and followed the car he was in before he jumped into ours.

Got to Maria's,said our greetings and drank/ate/mingled the night away. There were drinks, food, BBQ, games, and Singstar!! I think it was a pretty good night, minus the mishaps. Maria is a trooper and I know she'll (as she said on the night) "look back at this and laugh". :) Good on her for that, and for hosting an awesome party.

Happy B'day Maria!!

Saturday, 25th April
Korean BBQ at Charcoal Mine with the uni peeps. Great organisation by Ivan. We all got in there and started eating. And smelling like KBBQ. Afterwards we decided to go Bowling, for cheap! cos we're cheap cunts. $3 a game thanks to Lenny. We had 5 vs 5. I had Tim, Billy, Thien and Jasmine on my team, and it was Simon, Nam, Ivan, Hazel and Ada on the other team. I couldn't say it was neck and neck, but between certain people, it was. Except for me.

I dominated. Conceited, but I did. HAHA. Not by much in the first game, but in the second, I managed 173. That was way above my personal best. But we all had fun. Lenny gave us free food again. Good times. :):) Afterwards, Tim dropped us all home, and Jasmine to my house where we watched an Ants documentary. It was very informative. They're so organised. Next on the agenda is bees.

Bring on winter.

The Ants Go Marching One by One

During one of my strenuous study sessions at uni last week, I took a much needed break from all the hard work and found myself on a little attention-seeking distracting site called YouTube. (What the hell is procrastination?)

Following Jasmine's encounter with ants, we went on to watch documentary (BBC) videos on Ants. Also watching ants kill other creatures. This fascination quickly evolved, as I found myself watching videos on the other animals we share this earth with. In particular, watching them devour their meals - to which I vote the Anaconda's elastic mouth ingesting another huge ass mammal as being the most awesome sight to watch.

Anyway, there was a video on these Ants building a raft made out of the ants themselves, and the Queen Ant was carried on top, and taken across the water, then carried off the raft onto dry land. I was amazed at the sheer dedication of the worker ants to commit themselves to keeping the Queen alive and safe.

adrian ! nothing personal says: i wanna be queen ant for a day
adrian ! nothing personal says: sit back and do nothing
adrian ! nothing personal says: have ants build me ant bridges and rafts, or carry me, so i can get around

This Wednesday (April 22) is Earth Day and DisneyNature's Earth film is released. Excuse me while I bask in the presence of watching the life of 3 families live their lives.

Anyway, last Friday went to some hotel thing, that served some preetty good steak. I went with some mates, hung out, caught up, drank then watched Fast and Furious. Something about the film was lacking. Can't get over Vin Diesels character. But anyway, it was ok I guess, more muscle, less import in this movie.. Just needed more racing.

Also, new banner, I don't like the colour scheme, but I didn't know what colour would match the banner. I've already had orange, and green was the most dominant I think... unless I'm colour blind...

Floating in the sea of Wrong

The purpose of speed drawing is to capture the gesture of a subject quickly. Now, speed drawing within a time frame of 2 minutes - brings a whole different outcome. Subconsciously, it becomes a task where people either tend to focus on the quality and the details, rather than the time frame (this is where the real pro's stand) and even if I said to "draw as much of the picture", this should still stand... ON THE OTHER HAND, it becomes an attempt to get as much of a picture in, because ..well, to put it simply - we're all assclowns who feel the need for closure.

Now, I asked 9 people to draw this man (citation needed):

I wanted to see who used what tool, how much they got done, and just how good their skillz were in MSPaint (or photoshop, whichever).

Looking at the outcome, the results varied. I asked for the black superman! Half of them look like the bastard child of a 6'2" black pedophile and Ronald McDonald. One of them just looks like death.

Anyway, the first paragraph is just bs, I did it for kicks ....and some laughs. Without further ado, these are in no particular order:

I could easily pass this off as the most typical of adolescent drawings. I can't quite call it a rush job, or a job that had the effort either. And nothing says eff off more than STD infected lips.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you coloured it in with the picture underneath it. This immediately came off as the most accurate (until I saw Lenny's), and those eyes... seriously?
EDIT: ok you told me you didn't cheat, but lol this is pretty close then.

Jelli (stupid bitch who got her friend to do it)
What I noticed about a lot of these drawings so far, is the lack of shoulders. Wonkipated nose, and the only one to put the spraycan to use. Helmet hair ftw?

Anyone ask for Superman dressed turd? As the only one who probably used photoshop, this wouldve been cooler if it was finished. BUT I LIKE. Makes his hair actually look like hair. But still.. this is turd.

Who knew drawing with straight lines could be a work of art. It's too bad this doesn't showcase it. HAHA JK. His 'S' symbol screams Sex Whore, not Superman. Fire-engine red lipstick doesn't help. And wheres his neck? Is that a cape or a black tie? Or his arm? Third leg?
Drawing Age: 8

Tim
Um.. it almost looks like you drew all this with one line. Contour art... at its finest? Debatable. But damn thats one hell of a chin. I don't know what else to say. I suppose you could classify it art.. to an extent.
Drawing Age: 2.5

Trust Gordon to do the wrong thing here.

"oh, :\ i thought it was our interpretation. HAHAH well dik... cz well he looks like one" - Gordon
Props to you for actually drawing this tho. hehe

I think this was one of the most seirous ones, did it without much hesitation (unlike Xander, who thought I was a virus bot). The first time I've seen a black man look half French in a drawing.

Lenny
Cheated. I said paint. Zero points for effort, zero for final product. Now he looks like a cherry ripe with the chocolate sucked off.
Drawing Age: ???

After receiving these, I drew the conclusion.. that I like chicken flavoured twisties, and that maccas nuggets are worth every cent.

Project Weightless

IT Cruise was last week. Went with the IT boys (and girls) to that. The free pizza and beer meant another excuse to get smashed. It was fun, well I had fun, more than I thought I would. It ended around 10.40ish, and left with Jismine to accompany her on the way back to her other party. Possible thought of rapists of being mugged was out of the question for the hobbit. But I had fun. Met some new people so tops to that. Some random photo's from that, and a photo from LK outing.

Chilled at Jean's house on Sat night. Gave her some movies, tried to convince Lenny to drive there. We almost succeeded until he signed back on MSN saying he had accounting hw to do? Okay!

Anyway, I have listened to the song 'Weightless' by All Time Low over so many times and the chorus just hits me like crazy everytime I hear it.

Maybe it's not my weekend,
But it's gonna be my year

And I'm so sick of watching

While the minutes pass

As I go nowhere

And this is my reaction

To everything I fear

'Cause I've been going crazy

I don't wanna waste another minute here

First two lines give a sort of bittersweet vibe. Still being in Q1 of 2009, it makes me want to just take opportunities, or even just create small ones. *Cue Yes Man*. Makes you forget abouttt anything in the present. Don't deal with the bs.

Anyway, Maria and Kathy's bdays coming up. Kathy's is 1950's and I'm ok for 1920's era.. but.. I don't think I have anything remotely 50's... well I at least I don't think I have anything that'll make me look like I do. IDEAS?! IDEAS?!

DAMN THESE ASSIGNMENTS.
